چکیده
Fast and accurate large-scale localization quantification of harmfully compacted soils in recultivated post-mining landscapes are particular importance for mining companies the following farmers. The use heavy machinery during recultivation imposes soil stress can cause irreversible subsoil compaction limiting crop growth long term. To overcome or guide classical point-scale methods to determine compaction, fast covering large areas required. In our study, a field Garzweiler mine North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with known variability performance was intensively studied using non-invasive electromagnetic induction (EMI) electrode-based electrical resistivity tomography (ERT). Additionally, bulk density, volumetric water content textures were analysed along two transects different levels. results showed that measured EMI apparent conductivity (ECa) highly correlated (R2 > .7 dates depths below 0.3 m) density. Finally, correlations established used predict harmful within field, whereby spatial probabilistic map zones developed. general, revealed feasibility derived ECa compaction. Soil Water Content Monitoring Using Electromagnetic Induction
The use of electromagnetic ~EM! induction measurements was evaluated to predict water content in the upper 1.50 m of a prototype engineered barrier soil profile designed for waste containment. Water content was monitored with a neutron probe, and bulk soil electrical conductivity was monitored with a Geonics EM38 ground conductivity meter at ten locations at approximately monthly intervals over...
متن کاملDigital Mapping of Soil Salinity and Crop Yield across a Coastal Agricultural Landscape Using Repeated Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) Surveys
Reliable and real-time information on soil and crop properties is important for the development of management practices in accordance with the requirements of a specific soil and crop within individual field units. This is particularly the case in salt-affected agricultural landscape where managing the spatial variability of soil salinity is essential to minimize salinization and maximize crop ...
